Finance minister Pranab
Mukherjee says he is concerned not depressed on weakening Indian economy. Dear
Mr FM, I surmise you are rather depressed instead of being concerned after you discovered
that you couldn't worsen country's economy anymore than its existing condition.
Poor Man!! Actually, you
seem more depressed on presidential polls. You know that the Big Battle had
never been so big for the previous presidential candidates who rather enjoyed
support from all parties, but in your case, things have gone awry.
Thanks to your
legendary Congress which remained adamant on your candidature because it didn't
find anybody else in the party appropriate than you for the job of perfect
puppet!!!
Or there are some other
reasons behind your selection??
Isn’t it true that you
became the natural and popular choice of your party because your proved your
puppet-i-ness with such ingenuity that nobody else except Prime Minister
Manmohan Singh could have dreamt of doing it with such an ease and comfort??
Yes, the PM could have
been better choice than you for presidential candidate, but your party is
intelligent enough to not to take such self-ridiculing decisions. After all,
pitting the PM for one post up would have been ironically meant doubting his
ability to run the country as an active premier. This is how, you came in
picture.
Now as a finance
minister, won't you concede that you never resisted in frequently implementing
whimsical ideas of economical reforms tossed often by the ageing PM and the
great deputy chairman of planning commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia who has turned
the country into an economical laboratory to do research on - "kaun banayega desh ko bhikhari? (कौन बनाएगा देश को भिखारी?)"??
The fact is dear Mr
Pranb, you are a lost man as an FM. You are undoubtedly one of the most decent guys
in the political arena, but alas, failure came to you in the fag end of your
career.
Earlier, you seemed
less interested in running for presidential race because you didn't want to be
remembered as an escapist economist-turned-president.
Nonetheless, when you
were rationalized that you wouldn't be able to bring Indian economy back to
track and it was once in a lifetime opportunity to wash all the taints by
taking a 5-year-long dip in political ganges called Rashtrapati Bhawan (the
president's house), you couldn't decline the proposition.
If you really claim
that you never played filthy politics and are a man of self-esteem then you
should have asked the superwoman of your party not to put a full stop on your
political career by sending you on final voyage. You could have publicly
announced that Abdul Kalam was more deserving candidate than you for the
president post.
Contrarily, Kalam opted
to remain out of the game because he twigged that he would never be a unanimous
choice to serve the nation again at highest non-political seat.
But Mr Pranab, you are
depressed because PA Sangma, your old colleague and other contender for presidential
post, wants you to debate with him before both of you would be tested by those
who themselves are failure in public eyes.
Why are you hesitant in
debating? When you guys at Centre never hesitate in justifying your erratic decisions
that eventually cause sufferings to the nation then why can’t you take
challenge and reply the questions put by your opponent regarding your
candidature?
Again, you will say it
is politics and you ought not respond every tom, dick and harry. While we the
common people call it double standard. Prove why you are most appropriate
choice for presidential post than Kalam, Sangma or anybody else whose name has
been put forward by some or the other political party.
